Sara Futch joined Southwick Associates as a Research Analyst in 2020. She holds an M.S. in Human Dimensions of Conservation from North Carolina State University, a B.S. in Psychology, and a B.A. in German, both from Wofford College. Over the years, Sara has worked in a few different conservation and natural resource related fields, including as an animal behavior researcher and state park ranger. In her more recent master’s research, she studied the behavior of citizen scientists – volunteers contributing to scientific research. Along with a strong human dimensions perspective, Sara brings experience in R, SPSS, social network analysis, and survey research. A lifelong southeasterner, she enjoys exploring the varied eco-regions of the southeast through hiking and biking, and has recently started her journey as a hunter thanks to North Carolina’s R3 efforts.
