Economic Contribution of Charter Fishing in Louisiana (2024)

Louisiana is home to a charter fishing industry that plays a vital role in the state’s economy, culture, and tourism draw. To help highlight the importance of the charter fishing industry for the public and state officials, the Louisiana Charter Boat Association (LBCA) commissioned a study to quantify the economic contributions of this charter fishing within the state.

In 2024, anglers spent nearly $184 million while charter fishing in the state of Louisiana. That spending created a total economic multiplier effect of over $280 million in the state, supporting over 2,500 jobs in Louisiana and adding more than $164 million to the state’s GDP.
