Costa Rica – Economic Contributions of Angling 2009

The dollars brought into Costa Rica by U.S. and Canadian anglers are reported along with the resulting jobs, GDP contributions and tax revenues. The economic contributions between recreational and commercial fishermen targeting the same species are compared. This project required the development of Costa Rican economic models and extensive in-country research. Produced in conjunction with Nelson Resource Consulting and the University of Costa Rica on behalf of The Billfish Foundation.
