Habits, Harvests and Perceptions of South Carolina’s Recreational Oyster Harvesters

Effective resource management depends on understanding user’s harvests, demographics, habits, preferences, and trends. To help manage the South Carolina oyster resource, at the end of the 2020-2021 oyster season, more than 7,500 marine recreational fishing privilege holders were surveyed twice on behalf of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR).
