The Black Hills Region (BHR) is home to truly monumental places – rich in history, abundant
with nature, and ripe for adventure. The economic contributions associated with outdoor recreation in the BHR can be a powerful economic engine for communities across South Dakota, generating additional spending, supporting and creating jobs, and building future investments in open spaces and recreational areas. This study explores the 2021 economic contributions of outdoor recreation directly related to off-highway vehicle (OHV) activities within the BHR.
