Conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to significant increases in sportfishing participation. This report adds to the growing body of information regarding the factors behind people’s decisions to fish in 2020 and 2021 and how fishing marketing professionals can maintain participation and encourage others to fish. We provide key takeaways, recommendations, and observations based on license assessments and an angler survey.
