Southwick Associates Welcomes New Senior Analyst, Rene X. Valdez

FERNANDINA BEACH, FL – Southwick Associates is happy to welcome our newest Senior Research Analyst, Dr. Rene X. Valdez. He brings a rich background in human dimensions, wildlife, fisheries, and conservation to our team of experts.

Dr. Valdez holds a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University and a PhD in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from North Carolina State University. Before joining Southwick Associates in January this year, he worked for a state fish and wildlife agency conducting social science, communication, and evaluation projects. During that time, Rene also held an adjunct professor position at Virginia Commonwealth University where he taught Conservation Social Sciences.

Rene has diverse experiences in qualitative and quantitative methods and has worked in Stata, SPSS, and R. He’ll use this background to manage complex statistical and survey-based projects in partnership with clients and help find solutions to the most challenging problems.
